The first challenge is to find a subject and walk around it. Too often we find something we want to photograph and shoot a shot or two and move on. This exercise is to help break that pattern and shoot at least 10 pictures of the same subject but that look completely different. Right after I read this challenge I went to the Colorado Photo Expo and listened to Rick Sammon and Andy Katz talk. Both of these photographers stressed the importance of moving around and shooting every subject from every possible angle. You may get “the shot” on picture 36… But if you didn’t stick around and shoot more than 5 images you would have missed that shot that may be your “Half Dome.” I shot some with macro focus, telephoto lens, selective color, and different angles.
